Man & Woman Accused Of Ripping Off 97-Year-Old In Derry Twp.
DERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA)- A man and a woman from Derry have been charged with ripping off a 97-year-old woman.
Pennsylvania State Police arrested 58-year-old Cindy Pickering and 50-year-old David Leary on forgery charges.
Police say the two used several unauthorized forged checks to make cash withdrawals from the victim's bank account. They are accused of taking a total of $1,200 from the elderly woman.
The forgery involved checks taken from the home in the 100-block of Heather Drive in Derry Township.
The checks were cashed between June 26 and Aug. 21 of this year.
