Man Accused Of Posting Naked Photos Of Underage Ex-Girlfriend Online

BETHEL PARK (KDKA) -- A Fayette County man is now facing charges after police say he allegedly posted naked photos of his underage ex-girlfriend to social media without her permission.

A 16-year-old girl told police that an ex-boyfriend, identified as 20-year-old Donavan Lee Summerson posted nude selfies of her that she had sent at his request while they were dating.

"Reported to us that there were some compromising, adult pictures posted of her," said Det. Lance Mattes, of Bethel Park Police.

It was school officials who called police.

"It was reported at school, and mandatory reporting reasons that it came to us," said Det. Mattes.

Summerson, also known as Donavan Rivera, was picked up by Fayette County constables at his home in Connellsville and arraigned Thursday afternoon.

According to the criminal complaint, Summerson was involved with the girl from fall of 2013 until this spring.

Authorities say the photos showed up on Twitter this past Monday. Mutual friends saw them and told the girl she was the victim of an "exposing" on Twitter.

Summerson is charged with sexual abuse of children by disseminating photography, possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communications facility.

Investigators say this case and others like it are a warning.

"Social media creates problems like this, and bad decisions like this, so they are becoming more popular and juveniles need to be aware of what they're putting out there online," said Det. Mattes.

The criminal complaint also reports the teenage girl and her mother are fully supporting prosecution because the compromising pictures were released without her permission.
