Police Identify Man Accused Of Writing More Than $10,000 In Bad Checks

BUTLER (KDKA) - A man who is accused of passing off more than $10,000 in bad checks and cashing several of them has been identified by police.

They say 35-year-old Michael Machay of Butler County wrote himself and another man six checks, which were forged from real checks belonging to the Latrobe Municipal Authority.

Police were able to identify Machay because he handed his driver's license to bank tellers while passing the checks.
