Man, 81, Found Dead In Brushfire; Autopsy Slated

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (AP) – Officials say the death of an elderly man whose body was found by firefighters responding to a brushfire appears to have been accidental.

Officials in Beaver County said the fire was reported shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday on a wooded property in Beaver Falls.

Deputy Coroner Bill Pasquale said 81-year-old Wayne Rose apparently succumbed to smoke and flames. An autopsy was scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death.

State police fire marshal David Jungling said investigators believe Rose may have been overcome trying to extinguish the flames which may have stemmed from burning trash.
