Magician Pays Tribute To Houdini In Daring Downtown Escape

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - All eyes were on the sky as a Pittsburgh magician attempted a death-defying stunt this weekend.

Lee Terbosic escaped from a straitjacket, while hanging upside down from a crane. The same stunt was performed by Harry Houdini - 100 years ago to the day.

In 1916, Harry Houdini was also hung upside down and escaped from a straitjacket at the corner of Liberty Avenue and Wood Street.

On Sunday, hundreds of people gathered to watch Terbosic's escape at the same location.

"I've worked on this for the last 4 1-2 years, putting this moment together for Pittsburgh, I'm unbelievably proud of the team that was assembled to do this," Terbosic said. "Everybody that was involved, thank you so much for this."

Terbosic appeared on "Pittsburgh Today Live" on KDKA-TV to talk about the feat.
