Long Stretch Of Wet Weather Taking Toll, Cancelling Events & Causing Flooding

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- This recent stretch of wet weather is impacting outdoor activities all over the region.

KDKA's Kym Gable caught up with one local Colt baseball team that had to start and stop play several times Monday because of rain.

Eric Pitchford, the team manager for the North Hills Athletic Association team, said, "You have to call coaches, umpires, cancel and then you reschedule and it rains again. A lot of parents in my position are really pulling their hair out."

The weather isn't just impacting innings.

Storms and rainfall are responsible for cancelling the Regatta boat races over the holiday weekend, postponing road construction, closing swimming pools and damaging property.

"We just don't have time to get anything done. We're getting behind on everything. We're trapped inside," said parent Arleen Miller.
