Photo: Local Church Tries To Draw In Pokémon Go Players

HARRISON CITY (KDKA) -- A church in Westmoreland County is looking catch the attention of Pokémon Go players who cruise by searching for Pikachu.

St. Barbara Catholic Church in Harrison City is a Poké Stop, a place where players can pick up items used to play the game.

The church came up with a creative way to draw the influx of visitors in.

A sign depicting Pope Francis is hung near the entrance. A blurb next to his mouth reads, "You might never find a Pikachu, but I promise you this - search for Jesus and you'll find him every time!"

Church officials say everyone is getting a kick out of the sign and they hope it gets young people excited about church.
