Report: Teen Accused Of Setting Fire To Ligonier Twp. Landmark

LIGONIER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A popular spot in Ligonier Township was damaged by fire Thursday evening, and a teenager is reportedly accused of starting the blaze.

According to Washington County, crews were first called to the Ligonier Beach Restaurant, Lounge and Swimming Pool just before 7 p.m. The two-alarm fire was contained to the snack bar area.

The Pittsburgh Tribune Review reports a 13-year-old boy is being charged in juvenile court in connection with starting the fire. He'll face multiple charges including - arson, trespass, criminal mischief and burglary.

The owner of the business told the Trib that a cook who happened to be there at the time the fire broke out held the teen until police could arrive.

Police say the boy is also accused of stealing money and opening the beer taps, the Trib reported.
