Lawrence County Man Injured By Exploding Firework

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP (KDKA)- A Lawrence County man is recovering after a fireworks accident in Shenango Township.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, on the property of Gardner Chapel Assembly of God on Forest Avenue.

According to the fire chief, the man in his 40s had a homemade firework go off in his hand.

The man lost parts of several fingers, singed his face and had chemical burns to his chest.

He was taken to the Shenango Township Volunteer Fire Department, where he was flown to the hospital.

Police are investigating the incident.
