Man Dead After Shooting In Perry South

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - SWAT officers were on scene to search for a suspect after one person was fatally shot in Perry South.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety, one person was killed in the shooting in the 600 block of Danbury Street in Pittsburgh's Perry South.

Pittsburgh Police say officers arrived on scene just after 9 p.m. Tuesday night to find a man dead from a gunshot wound. He was found lying on the ground between two houses.

Authorities have identified him as 39-year-old Ted Evans.

SWAT was reportedly called to the scene to help search for the suspect.

Police say they found a suspect and took him into custody for questioning about an hour and a half later.

One SWAT team member injured his ankle during the incident and he was transported to the hospital.
