McArdle Roadway Reopens After Landslide

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A landslide sent mud and rock spilling across McArdle Roadway this morning in Mount Washington.

The slide forced crews to close down the road in both directions for much of the afternoon while crews cleaned the mess.

It is now reopened to traffic.

According to Allegheny County emergency officials, the slide first happened around 9:30 a.m. about halfway up the road to Mount Washington.

Local officials are blaming the overnight rain for causing dirt and rocks to come loose.

In addition to cleaning the road, crews also removed soil from the hillside.

No injuries were reported.

But with rain in the forecast, officials ay they plan to keep an eye on the hillside as a precaution.
