Charleroi Mother Accused Of Hiding Child's Body In Bedroom Wall

CHARLEROI, Pa. (KDKA) - A Washington County mother is accused of hiding a baby's body in a wall of her own home.

Kylie Wilt, a 25-year-old from Charleroi, is facing charges of concealing the death of a child, abuse of a corpse, obstruction of justice, welfare fraud and tampering with evidence. The father, Alan Hollis, is also facing charges of obstructing administration of law or other governmental functions.

Robin Stasicha, a former neighbor of theirs, told KDKA's Amy Wadas that she used to hear the baby crying all the time. But then all of a sudden, she didn't hear the cries anymore.

"I'm sick. It's a horrible feeling," said Stasicha.

Stasicha used to live next door to Wilt and Hollis on Upper Crest Avenue in Charleroi until she said they moved about a month ago. She said she knew the couple had a baby.

"I used to hear the baby crying all the time. And all of a sudden, it didn't one day and didn't see them bringing him in and out and didn't figure this is what happened," said Stasicha.

She asked the property manager about the baby.

"I told her I hadn't seen the baby and I was concerned, and she said the baby passed away," said Stasicha. "I was thinking, I'm here all the time. I never saw an ambulance. Wouldn't you call 911 if your baby wasn't responding to you?"

According to the Washington County District Attorney Jason Walsh, on Nov. 4, Charleroi Regional Police were called to a home on Lookout Avenue with Child and Youth Services to find the 1-year-old child.

CYS learned that Wilt had been lying to them about the whereabouts of the child and that the child had died in February and was placed in a crate.

Wilt moved to the home on Lookout Avenue and placed the crate inside her bedroom wall and then covered it with drywall and new paint. Police were able to locate the child's remains within the house.

Wilt told police the baby died back in February from SIDS at their other home on Upper Crest Avenue and didn't have money to bury him.

Wilt's sister told KDKA over Facebook that she had no idea the baby was missing. She claims Hollis was abusive to her sister, and he kept her isolated from their family.

Investigators said CYS has been working with the family because doctors found THC in the baby's system at birth.

The district attorney believes three other children also lived with the couple. It's unclear where they are at this time.

The child's death is being investigated.
