Man Charged With Helping Kidnapping, Assault Suspect Flee Country

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A local college student is accused of helping a sexual assault suspect flee the country.

According to the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office, 23-year-old Faisal Rajab of Moon Township helped Abdalaziz Sama leave the country to avoid prosecution.

Sama is charged with kidnapping a woman he met online, back in July.

Police say he met up with her, exchanged numbers and later asked for a nude photo of the woman. According to police, "Sama then allegedly was able to determine the victim's true identity and threatened to send the photo to her friends and family unless she met him in person."

They say when she met up with Sama, he told her to undress and assaulted her. He allegedly then refused to let her leave until the victim said people would be looking for her if she didn't show up for work.

Other charges include indecent assault and false imprisonment.

Sama was arrested and taken to the Allegheny County Jail last month and released after making bail.

When Sama was a no-show for court, a warrant went out for his arrest.

Investigators determined he had returned to Saudi Arabia with the help of Rajab.

Rajab is now in the Allegheny County Jail.
