Crews Put Final Touches On Kennywood Holiday Lights Display

WEST MIFFLIN (KDKA) -- Kennywood is getting ready to kick off the holiday season.

Crews are putting the final touches on the park's annual Holiday Lights display.

Workers were out Tuesday night inspecting the nearly two million lights that have been set up around the park.

New for this year is a "Gingerbread Village," featuring more than 200 handmade gingerbread homes.

"About the time you're putting your Christmas away, you're taking your tree down and throwing it away, I'm actually staring over for next year," said Jon Lovitch, from Kennywood. "I start the second week in January. So, my work's culminating right now, I get a few weeks off to ski and then I'll start over."

Kennywood's Holiday Lights opens to the public Friday at 5 p.m. and will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night through Dec. 23.
