Kennedy Township To Honor Fallen Airman With Procession

KENNEDY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Kennedy Township is planning to honor the local U.S. Airman killed earlier this month in a helicopter crash in England.

The township has planned a funeral procession for 31-year-old Capt. Sean Ruane this Saturday, Jan. 25.

Capt. Ruane, a graduate of Montour High School, was one of four airmen killed when a helicopter went down Jan. 7 along the English Coast.

Township officials are asking Kennedy Township residents to come out and line the streets during the procession to show their support for Capt. Ruane and all members of the military.

According to township officials, the procession is scheduled to begin at 10:15 a.m. on Forest Grove Road. From there, it will follow Pine Hollow Road to McCoy Road and then onto Neville Road.

Firefighters will be distributing American flags to the crowd.

Also, the Kennedy Township firemen ladder trucks will form an arch in front of the fire department.
