Police Investigating Dollar General Robbery In Kennedy Twp.

KENNEDY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Police are investigating a Thursday morning robbery in Kennedy Township.

According to police, the incident happened just before 9 a.m. at the Dollar General in the 500 block of Pine Hollow Road.

Allegheny County Police say the suspect entered the store, approached a female employee and demanded money. He then approached another female employee and again demanded money.

Sources say the suspect did not show a gun, but police say he kept his hands in his pockets during the robbery.

The suspect removed cash from behind the cashier counter and started to leave the store with an unspecified amount of money.

Allegheny County Police say as the suspect was leaving, he turned around and sprayed pepper spray towards the interior of the store.

Neighboring businesses in the strip mall said this is not the first time that suspects have targeted the Dollar General.

There are no reported injuries.
