Suspect In Connellsville Shooting And Kidnapping Case Denied Bond

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- Keith Bradshaw, the suspect in a homicide and kidnapping case in Fayette County, has been denied bond.

Bradshaw, however, is maintaining his innocence.

He claims he didn't kidnap anyone, and that 16-year-old Damion Mickey went with him willingly.

"I didn't kidnap anyone," Bradshaw said on his way into court when asked if he abducted Damion Mickey, 16. "I'm sorry you are under the impression of the news and everything else."

According to police, Bradshaw is accused of shooting and killing William Stewart III before allegedly abducting Mickey, the son of Stewart's girlfriend.

Bradshaw was taken into custody in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday. His alleged accomplice, 38-year-old Majorie Kay, was arrested in Connellsville.

Police say the pair jumped a fence early Tuesday morning with the intent of abducting Mickey.

However, Stewart caught the two. Police said and argument ensued and Bradshaw allegedly shot and killed Stewart and took off with Mickey.

Mickey's mom tells KDKA that Bradshaw was having an inappropriate relationship with her son and that he wanted nothing more to do with Bradshaw.

"I do believe in an argument he was trying to stop them from taking Damion and that's when it happened," said Heather Mickey, the victim's girlfriend. "I see my man dead, I tried to wake him up, I kept saying, 'babe, babe,' and I just started screaming and I couldn't breathe."

But Bradshaw says he just vacationed with the family.

"Me and his mom and Bill just got back from Florida the day before yesterday, from vacation in Orlando, Florida," Bradshaw said.

After the alleged abduction, police issued an Amber Alert for Mickey. Then, the two were quickly found across the state and brought back to Connellsville.

Bradshaw is charged with homicide and kidnapping.

He is due back in court on Feb. 27 for his preliminary hearing in Connellsville.
