PurpleStride Pittsburgh
PurpleStride Pittsburgh has already exceeded its fundraising goal to fight pancreatic cancer, and more money will be raised before the walk on Saturday.
KDKA-TV anchor Kristine Sorensen is emceeing the walk for the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network this weekend at 10 a.m. at the South Side Works and Heritage Trail.
The local chapter has already raised almost $350,000 so far. PurpleStride Pittsburgh walks are happening all around the country on Saturday. Pancreatic cancer is one of the most deadly cancers, but the five-year survival rate improved to 11% in 2022, showing progress in the fight.
