KDKA Helps Cook Up a Recipe for Hope, Raising Money for Women with Cancer

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Chefs and celebrity cooks teamed up to make a Recipe for Hope Saturday night in Avonworth.

KDKA's Heather Abraham, David Highfield, Kym Gable, Brenda Waters, Dave Crawley and Rick Dayton all made recipes for the event at the Mayernik Center.

The event raises tens of thousands of dollars for "Hair Peace Charities." The charity helps buy wigs for women battling cancer.

The celebrity cooks teamed up with local chefs and restaurants to serve up tasty and creative dishes to hundreds of guests.

Rick Dayton brought home the "Perfect Plate" award at this year's event. One of those awards is given to a celebrity, one is given to a chef for the best recipe.

Rick served up his version of homemade Payday bars.

Bonnie Diver, a KDKA Radio personality, has beat breast cancer. She created the "Hair Peace Charities."
