Judge Denies Bail For Man Accused Of Killing Girlfriend, Putting Body In Freezer

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A judge has denied bail for a Shaler Township man accused in connection with the death of his girlfriend and putting her body in a freezer which he buried in his backyard.

During the Wednesday morning hearing, the judge called 57-year-old George Biegenwald a predator of women but left the door open for a bond hearing at a later date.

But it was revealed in court today that investigators with cadaver dogs went back to the scene looking for potentially more women's bodies.

"It's my understanding that that happened yesterday," said defense attorney Phil DiLucente. "A whole team of forensic persons went out as of yesterday not only to I guess pull computers but also look for other women's bodies."

No bodies were found but that information as well as Biegenwald's record involving women and accusations of violence against them factored into Judge Jeffrey Manning's decision to deny bail because of what he saw, so far, as Biegenwald being a predator of women.

But he didn't close the door to another bond hearing.

"I'm very confident that this is not a first or second degree murder case and I'm very glad that president judge Manning gave me the opportunity to bring another bond hearing," said DiLucente.

The defense will bring transcripts of the preliminary hearing and witness testimony to another bond hearing in a few weeks which he thinks will show Donna See's death was the result of a fight and that Biegenwald was defending himself, and that Donna see fell, causing her injuries.

The prosecution says she was the victim of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
