John Perrotto Discusses Pirates' Trade Possibilities

PITTSBURGH (93-7 THE FAN) - Beaver County Times Journalist and Member of the Baseball Writers of America, John Perrotto, joined Dan Kingerski Monday morning to discuss the current state of the Pirates' roster.

Dan asked John if the Pirates still have a player like Kendrys Morales on their radar as the season gets started .

"I don't see how you can have a whole season of no production from first base," John says.

In a perfect world, he hopes Andrew Lambo will find his groove again in Indianapolis, but notes a post draft trade "is certainly a possibility if they are still not getting production from first base."

Perrotto says that maybe making the playoffs was a bad thing because now Bob Nutting feels they can do that with a low payroll every year.

"It's not that simple," John says. "They owe it to the fans to spend some money."

He finishes by talking about how much the Pirates are actually getting from their TV contract.
