Police: Westmoreland Co. Man Arrested For Driving ATV While Drunk

SOUTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - A Westmoreland County man was arrested for DUI after police pulled him over while he was driving a John Deere ATV.

According to police, the incident happened on the Mendon Road stretch of Route 31 in South Huntingdon Township.

Robert Derr, 66, of West Newton, was pulled over after state police troopers spotted him driving erratically while on his John Deere Gator.

Troopers say it didn't go smoothly as Derr gave them a hard time, but he was eventually taken into custody.

Officers charged Derr with drunk driving. He was later released from custody.

In addition to the DUI charges, Derr is also facing charges of resisting arrest, careless driving and unlawful operation on a highway.
