Joey Porter Named Steelers' Outside Linebackers Coach

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - With Steelers' linebacker coach Keith Butler being named Dick LeBeau's successor as defensive coordinator, the team had a vacancy to fill on their defensive coaching staff.

Today, the Steelers announced that they have promoted two from within to fill Butler's old role of linebacker coach.  Former Steeler Joey Porter has been named the team's outside linebacker coach, while Jerry Olsavsky has been named the inside linebacker coach.

Porter and Olsavsky both served as defensive assistants last year.

After a 13-year playing career, including eight with the Steelers, Porter had just joined the Steelers' coaching staff last year.

Olsavsky had been with the Steelers since 2010 in a defensive assistant capacity after playing nine years for the Steelers from 1989-97.
