Jitney Driver Maced During Wilkinsburg Carjacking

WILKINSBURG (KDKA) -- Wilkinsburg Police say a 58-year-old jitney driver was sprayed in the face with mace Wednesday night in a carjacking incident.

It happened around 8:20 p.m. in the 800-block of Woodworth Avenue.

The driver went there to pick up two men who met him at the end of the street.

One passenger hopped in the front seat, the other man got in the back.

Seconds later, the driver was maced and after the car slowed to a stop. The two passengers, and as many as three others, including a woman, roughed him up and took off in his car.

The vehicle is described as a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, dark in color with "Penn Avenue Auto Sales" sticker on the license plate area.

The driver was treated and decontaminated by paramedics at the scene.

Police said he was not seriously hurt, but shaken up by the incident.
