James Franklin Explains Saving A Timeout Against UCF

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Penn State football head coach James Franklin joined "The Fan Morning Show" on Thursday to look back on his team's 26-24 win over UCF in Ireland and look ahead to their upcoming matchup with Akron.

"I'm very, very pleased with how that whole thing played out, just the way we work them all the time in practice," Franklin said. "And we're always going to save a timeout at the end of the game, especially if you're going to kick a field goal on any other down but fourth down. So, if it gets blocked, you have a chance to call timeout and still be able to kick the field goal."

Penn State plays Akron at Beaver Stadium Saturday at noon.
