Suspect Not Found After Hours-Long Standoff In Ingram
INGRAM (KDKA) -- Police and the SWAT team surrounded a home in Ingram on Friday evening after reports that a man had barricaded himself inside.
The incident start in the early evening hours at a home on Scotia Street, near Berry Street.
According to the Ingram Police chief, officers went to serve a warrant out of Bethel Park at the home, and that's when the suspect holed himself up inside. The man has been identified as George Andrew Dorsey.
"The picture being painted is that he is this criminal, notorious person, that he's not. This is so blown out of proportion. It's breaking my heart we have to go through this," the suspect's sister, Beckey Dorsey, said.
Police set up a perimeter and kept neighbors far back for safety reasons. They said no one else was inside the home
What sounded like at least one flash-bang could be heard going off in the distance. Police also tried breaking windows.
In the end, it turns out Dorsey was not found inside the house. Police are still searching for him.
He is wanted out of Bethel Park for aggravated assault and sexual assault, among other charges.
Ingram and Bethel Park police, along with Allegheny County police and county SWAT were all called to the scene.
