Ice Melt, Snow Shovels Hard To Come By In Some Areas
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It's a mad dash right now to find shovels and salt.
Salt and shovels were in stock Monday at the Best Feeds Garden Center along Babcock Boulevard in Ross, but that's not the case everywhere.
We called around and found only a handful of stores with supplies remaining.
If you live in the South Hills, Evey True Value Hardware still had 100 bags of salt and shovels.
The Home Depot in Bridgeville had dozens of shovels.
Bortz Hardware in Greensburg has been a popular place for winter-related items, but getting the stuff has been tough.
That's where KDKA's Ross Guidotti found Dave Skoloda, who said his mission was simple: get as much salt as possible.
"I've been married for 30 years. Kelly is a fanatic about keeping the driveway clean. I have a bad back so she's out there shoveling all the time. So my approach to getting salt is happy wife, happy life," he said.
