Tractor Trailer Loses Tire, Crashes On I-70

SOUTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A tractor-trailer crash shut down a portion of I-70 in South Strabane Township on Sunday.

It happened just before 8 p.m. in the eastbound lanes between the I-79 South Morgantown exit and the PA-519 Eighty-Four/Glyde exit.

According to state police, a tractor trailer driver lost control and struck a crash cushion on the east side of the road.

The tractor trailer then crossed the left lane of the road and crashed into a concrete barrier between the eastbound and westbound lanes.

State police say the tractor trailer jackknifed, cross the right lane and crashed into a concrete barrier on the east berm of the road.

The tractor trailer finally came to a rest, blocking both lanes.

No one was hurt.

All eastbound lanes were closed for about two hours. The scene was cleared around 10:15 p.m.
