2 Dead After Crash On I-376 In Beaver County

HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Two people were killed in a crash on I-376 in Beaver County on Thursday.

It happened just after 1 p.m. near Hopewell Township.

Pennsylvania State Police say 87-year-old Thomas Riggins, of Aliquippa, was traveling eastbound on I-376 in the right-hand lane when he pulled onto the right shoulder and performed a U-turn.

Riggins then proceeded to drive westbound in the left lane of the eastbound side of I-376.

State Police say Riggins crashed into 82-year-old Franklin Eshbaugh, of Monaca, who was traveling eastbound on I-376 on the eastbound side in the left-hand lane.

Both Riggins and Eshbaugh were pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no passengers in either vehicle at the time of the crash.
