2 Accused Of Beating Woman To Death, Dumping Body, Setting It On Fire

POLK, Pa. (KDKA) - A man and a woman are accused of beating a woman to death, dumping the body and setting it on fire in Franklin.

According to state police, Polk Borough firefighters were sent to a brush fire on Waterworks Road in Franklin around 5 p.m. Friday. When they put out the fire, they discovered a body.

The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Tausha Lee Baker, of Franklin.

State police believe Baker was brutally beat at a home in the 1300 block of New Street, and her body was then disposed of and set on fire.

Thirty-two-year-old Amanda Cypher, of Franklin, and 28-year-old Richard Kennedy, of Vandergrift, have been arrested and charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, abuse of a corpse and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

Cypher and Kennedy were sent to the Venango County Prison. They have been denied bail.

Police are also looking for a maroon or red Ford Edge with Pennsylvania license plate KHX-9391.
