Homewood Teen Dies From Injuries Suffered In Car Surfing Incident

HOMEWOOD (KDKA)- A 15-year-old Homewood male, who was injured during a car surfing incident, has died from his injuries.

Early Wednesday morning, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office said Ronte Nelson-Goins passed away.

The incident happened back on Feb. 29, just before midnight, in the 7400 block of Race Street in Homewood.

Police say the teenager was riding on top of the trunk of a car. At some point, Nelson-Goins either fell or jumped off of the trunk and suffered a serious head injury.

The teen was rushed to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. The coroner's office says he never regained consciousness and passed away Tuesday night.

So far, no charges have been filed, but police say they are still investigating.
