Woman Killed In Shooting In Homewood

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed early Monday morning in Homewood.

Police tell us they're searching for a man in this shooting, calling him a suspect. At this time, police have not said who he is or what he looks like.

Detectives from Major Crimes and the Crime Scene Unit spent hours processing the scene. They were taking several pictures on the second floor of the home, and using their flashlights to check out the outside of the house.

Police say the shooting occurred just before 2:30 a.m. in the 7000 block of Monticello Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found 32-year-old Shadea Johnson with a gunshot wound. She is from Homewood.

She was pronounced dead by paramedics shortly after their arrival.

Monticello Street was also blocked off to traffic for sometime this morning. Right now, police have not released details on what led to the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
