Homewood Family And Two Dogs Escape Burning Home

HOMEWOOD (KDKA) -- A family was put out of its house after a three-alarm fire Friday night in Homewood.

It happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 7900 block of Maderia Street.

Fire crews encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the two-story house.

The house has extensive damage.

Two adults and two children got out safely. Two dogs were also safely evacuated.

The Red Cross is assisting with housing.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
