Hines Ward Calls Time On "Celebrity Wife Swap" A Learning, Growing Experience

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - Former Steeler wide receiver Hines Ward has tackled "Dancing With The Stars," on-air game day analysis, and now, "Wife Swap."

Hines, a newlywed, swapped his wife, Lindsey, with actor Verne Troyer's girlfriend for a week living under an unfamiliar roof with new rules and adjusting to completely different lifestyles.

NewsRadio's Mangino and Shelley agreed the whole wife swap concept isn't really for them, but Hines said when he got the call about the show, the decision was a no-brainer.

"We're big fans of the show," Hines said. "So we always want to see how other celebrities live their lives and how they deal with family members and issues like that."

Steeler fans know that Ward has been very good at making sure his private life remains private, but he thought this would be a good chance to let people and fans in. The show will give you a look into the day-to-day life of Hines.

If you have ever tuned into the show, you know there are usually arguments when the families start butting heads on view points, and Hines admits that it was most definitely an adjustment. Hines said while he and Lindsey both had to adjust, he thinks it was harder for her traveling to L.A.

"You know, Verne he's a small guy, so you know having to adjust to his everyday living is something that was totally different to her," Hines said. "And then, me being a stickler, I'm kind of a neat freak when it comes to my house. I want everything in a particular order and needs to be spotless everywhere."

Hines admits his son had a blast while filming and enjoyed the experience. Even though he didn't agree always with Verne's girlfriend's rules, he went along with it and gave it his all and had a blast in the process. The newlyweds are looking at this as a great learning and growing experience.
