Highmark Donates Nearly 40,000 Cloth Face Masks To EMS Providers

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It's National EMS Week, and Highmark is saying 'thank you' by donating tens of thousands of cloth face masks.

Highmark officials say that the near 40,000 donated masks will serve as an alternative for EMS workers to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

They also say that it will preserve personal protective equipment for first responders who are in direct contact with infected patients.
