High Praise For Pitt's Aaron Donald Leading Up To NFL Draft

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Leading up to the NFL Combine, there has been much speculation about how Pitt star and reigning Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald will measure out.

Sports Illustrated's Greg A. Bedard wrote a piece on the Monday Morning Quarterback site about Donald which offered some NFL comparisons and high praise.  Bedard compares Donald to the Cincinnati Bengals star Geno Atkins saying they both share the "same undersized, pass-rushing, three-technique tackles."

In the column, Atkins himself agrees to the comparison. Atkins was a fourth-round pick that turned into a star, and Bedard speculates that many teams won't let a player like that slip past them again, so Donald could be climbing teams draft boards right now.

You can read more about how much Donald impressed the pro scouts at the Senior Bowl here.  Donald won the award for the Most Outstanding Overall Player at the Senior Bowl only adding to the many accolades he has earned this year.

Keep it tuned to 93-7 The FAN for coverage of the NFL Combine and NFL Draft.
