Helpful Website Brings Pittsburgh Parents Together

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020) – When you have children, keeping your friends can be hard and it can be even harder if those friends don't have kids of their own.

That's why Kelly Hughes founded Pgh Momtourage, a website for moms and dads who may be feeling a little more isolated since having children.

Hughes tells the "KDKA Morning News" the website is a place, "for moms to come together and connect and find their new circle of friends as they move into a new stage of life."

Hughes adds it's a great place for parents to find out they are not alone and that hearing from other parents can help, "make you feel like you're not crazy when your child does something weird, or hits another child and that you're not the worst parent in the world and that this is normal for kids and you work it out together."

The website also has a list of activities and events that families can do with their children. Hughes says a lot of the events they have listed are free activities.
