Head Of Butler Co. Prescription Drug Ring Sentenced To 24 Years
PITTSBURGH (AP) - The head of what prosecutors say was one of the biggest prescription drug rings in Beaver County has been sentenced to 24 years in federal prison.
Prosecutors told the sentencing judge Monday that 28-year-old David Best had an addiction to money and that he forged prescriptions and stole to keep supplies up.
Jurors convicted Best in April on conspiracy, drug, burglary and firearm charges.
Prosecutors say he broke into a Baden pharmacy and stole fentanyl, Ritalin, oxycodone and other drugs and convinced a pharmacy employee to steal prescription pads.
