Greenfield Man Arrested After Stealing From Vehicle, Leading Police On Chase

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police have arrested a man accused of leading them on a foot chase and then hitting one of the officers trying to arrest him after he was spotted taking things from a vehicle over the weekend in Greenfield.

According to police, it happened around 2 a.m. Saturday in the 4000-block of Winterburn Avenue.

Police say the suspect, 27-year-old Cameron Halloran of Greenfield, was seen leaning inside of a vehicle there. But when officers approached him, they say he ran away and they began chasing him.

Additional officers responded, including a K9 unit from Baldwin Borough that tracked Halloran until he was located and apprehended.

When police arrested Halloran they say they found money, a change purse, gift cards and heroin.

An officer received minor injuries when Halloran struck him during the arrest, police said.

Halloran faces charges of escape, theft from vehicle, disorderly conduct, loitering and prowling at night, receiving stolen property, possession of controlled substance, and aggravated assault.
