Girl Scout Cookies About To Become Cereals

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- This Girl Scout cookie season, fans will have something new to sink their teeth into.

"The Girl Scouts Cookie cereals will be available nationwide in January," confirms Mike Siemienas, Manager of Brand Media Relations for General Mills.

General Mills is keeping somewhat quiet about the new project. Here is what we know:

1) The sweetened whole grain corn cereals will only be available for a limited time.

2) They will come in two varieties: Caramel Crunch (derived from Caramel deLites, a.k.a. Samoas) and Thin Mints (derived from the popular cookie of the same name).

Some on social media say they've been crushing up cookies into their milk for years, but now the practice is to become "legitimized."
