Giant Yellow Rubber Duck Returning To Pennsylvania

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The giant yellow rubber duck is returning to Pennsylvania!

But this time the duck isn't headed for Pittsburgh, it's going to Erie.

Go Erie reports that the duck will be part of the Tall Ships Erie festival September 8-11.

The giant duck will be part of the event, along with between 10 and 12 tall ships.

The floating giant duck is more than six-stories high, 64-feet wide, 74-feet long and weighs 11-tons.

The "World's Largest Rubber Duck" will reportedly be tied up near the Bayfront Convention Center, where four tall ships are scheduled to dock.

A smaller, 40-foot duck appeared in Pittsburgh for about a month in the fall of 2013 and drew about a million visitors, most who came to have their pictures taken with the oversized toy.

Pittsburghers tried to keep the duck and an online petition had thousands of signatures.
