Get Marty: PennDOT Steps Up After Roadside Memorial Theft

SCOTT TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- PennDOT stepped up big time for a woman asking 'Get Marty' for help.

"This is very emotional," said Chris Sciulli.

Antonio Sciulli was working an active construction site in Scott Township three years ago. He was struck and killed by a car.

The Sciulli family placed two different memorials at the crash site along Greentree Road. The memorials the family placed on the sites were both stolen.

"How could anyone do such a thing," asked Chris.

KDKA immediately reached out to Scott Police. The department opened an investigation.

Meantime, the family asked PennDOT for an Adopt A Highway designation months ago.

The family became frustrated.

"I just want a place where we can honor Antonio," says Chris.

We sent PennDOT an e-mail. A PennDOT manager apologized for the delay and guaranteed the Adopt a Highway sign would be erected.

"This is so emotional. I am so thankful," said Chris.

PennDOT erected two signs in honor of Antonio Sciulli along Greentree Road Thursday morning.

Chris Sciulli has never been more grateful.
