Gateway HS Employee Allegedly Violated Staff/Student Boundary Policy

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) -- A Gateway High School employee has been placed on paid administrative leave.

According to a statement released by Superintendent William Short, the district received information that an employee "may have violated the District policy regarding student/staff boundaries."

The allegations involve one student and stems from an incident inside the classroom.

District officials sent a letter home to parents on Thursday informing them of the alleged incident.

Officials were reportedly made aware of these allegations on Tuesday and contacted Child Protective Services.

"As a district, we are deeply concerned about this allegation and will always maintain that our top priority is protecting students/staff and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment," the statement reads.

Officials from the district are reportedly cooperating with the investigation.
