Furry Tails: Animal Rescue League Gets Holiday Donation

Christmas came early for local homeless animals.

The city's Bureau of Animal Care and Control donated toys, food and treats to the Animal Rescue League to show their appreciation.

The Animal Rescue League and Wildlife Shelter takes in more than 10,000 animals a year:

"They're here for us 24/7, 365 days a year and anything we need they are able to provide for us," said Taylor Sumansky, of Animal Care & Control. "They have staff here to answer our emergency calls, they have veterinarians on staff to help us with investigations and they take in thousands of animals every year, not just from us but from the community in general."

The shelter also got a truckload of donations from Petagogy on Wednesday.

More than 1,000 pounds of kibble and two dozen cases of canned food were collected during their annual pet food drive.
