Friends Continue To Search For Missing South Side Man

SOUTH SIDE (KDKA) - Friends continue to look for the young South Side man who has been missing for two weeks.

Another search began this morning. The group's only New Year's resolution is to find the missing Allegheny General Hospital nurse.

It has now been 15 days since 22-year-old Paul Kochu was last seen.

Surveillance video shows a man, believed to be Kochu, walking in the 1900-block of Wharton Street around 2:45 a.m. heading toward the 10th Street Bridge.

There have been several searches Kochu, who worked in the Intensive Care Unit at AGH.

Christmas has come and gone and 2015 is just a few hours away. Still, there is no sign of Kochu, but co-workers from AGH and friends continue to walk the South Side and search.

"We are just going to continue the search for Paul, hope we come up with some good signs and positive things," Beth Trautman said.

They walked with a search dog and flyers in hand, which offer a $20,000.

"If it were my kids I would not want to give up. I have two teenage boys at home and I would want them home with me any holiday, any day, you just want them home," said Trautman. "Hoping for a miracle... there are miracles that happen. We are hoping this is one of them."

Kochu's father said he is grateful his son has friends who will not give up.

Unfortunately, today's search turned up no clues and police say they have no new information.

A new search will begin Friday morning at 10 a.m.
