Former Credit Union Branch Manager Indicted On Theft, Arson Charges

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A former branch manager of a local credit union is accused of stealing more than $300,00 and then setting a fire to conceal the theft.

A grand jury indicted 63-year-old Patty Lynn Mavrakis of Belle Vernon.

Prosecutors say that back in 2016, Mavrakis stole the money while working at the Valley First Federal Credit Union.

They say she started the fire in the credit union's safe and claimed that's what destroyed the missing money.
