Hearing Postponed For Forest Hills Bank Robbery Suspect

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A woman accused of robbing a bank in Forest Hills and then fleeing the state was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

However, a hearing for 61-year-old Alexis Mahone-Green of Wilkinsburg was postponed until Sept. 23.

Mahone-Green was arrested earlier this month in connection with a robbery at the Citizen's Bank on June 18.

"We are extremely happy that no one was hurt. This is a very, very difficult case," said defense attorney Blaine Jones.

Investigators used a surveillance photo taken inside the bank to identify her.

Authorities say she used a rental car during the robbery, drove it to Delaware after the incident and then met her family in Philadelphia.

Authorities say she later returned home to Pittsburgh and shaved her hair in order to change her appearance.

Sheriff's deputies arrested her immediately after identifying her in the surveillance photographs.

"We're hoping for a resolution in which Ms. Mahone-Green does not face the rest of her days in a jail," said Jones.

Sources confirm that could happen. The FBI is looking at federal charges and records indicate Mahone-Green has a previous bank robbery conviction.

Sources also confirm she has a lifelong heroin addiction.

Mahone-Green is charged with one count of robbery.
