Football Loyalties Dividing Local Household This Weekend

OHIO TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- The Steelers beat the Bengals when they met in Cincinnati. Sunday night's game in Pittsburgh will decide the division championship.

Speaking of division, a couple in Ohio Township has divided loyalties.

"I was born and raised in western Pennsylvania, so I'm a huge born and raised Steeler fan," says Erica Puck. "Unfortunately, Mike was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Their first date? A Steelers game in Cincinnati. Michael and Erica Puck have knocked helmets over football ever since.

"I found someone in life who loves football and is as passionate about sports as me," Michael says. "So the fact that she was a Steeler fan wasn't the best case scenario, I guess."

Though most of their den is black and gold, there is a touch of Cincinnati orange. Not to mention, Cincinnati Reds. Nevertheless, their young sons, Dylan and Austin, proudly sport the black and gold.

"Before we signed that marriage certificate, it was understood that our kids would be raised Steeler fans," Erica explains.

They have two television sets in the den. There's a reason for that. Michael gets to watch the Bengals, while Erica watches the Steelers.

One big difference: Erica gets to turn up the volume, and Michael doesn't.

And if the Bengals win Sunday night?

"No good night, no I love you. Just go to bed, see you in the morning," Michael laughs.

Erica agrees. "Yeah, I don't take losing well. Let's put it that way."
