Flooding Possible Tuesday With 1-2 Inches Of Rain Expected

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- It's been a soggy start to the week as rain arrived overnight, but we'll be seeing even more wet weather on Tuesday.

The skies will be overcast today with off and on light rain throughout the day, according to KDKA meteorologist Ron Smiley.

Then, on Tuesday, big changes will arrive with a fairly strong cold front blowing through.

While no organized severe weather is expected at this point, the set-up does point to heavy and sustained rain during the afternoon and evening that will likely lead to flooding in several spots.

All the usual flood places could see high water as we could potentially see more than three inches of rain falling over the course of Tuesday into Wednesday morning in spots.

Most of us should expect to see between an inch to two inches of rain.

Our first taste of fall arrives behind the rain with highs in the mid- to low-60s for the rest of the week.

Light rain, at this point, looks possible on Friday with another cold front pushing through on Sunday.
