Flames Consume 3-Story Building In The Hill District

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A fire ravaged a three-story apartment building in the Hill District on Friday.

The four-alarm blaze was reported in the 2400 block of Wylie Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Officials say the building, which has 18 units among three connected structures, was fully-occupied at the time the fire broke out.

Video from News Chopper 2 showed flames and smoke pouring from the windows.

According to the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department, the fire was contained to an apartment on the third floor and the attic.

No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross and Salvation Army are helping the residents.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
